Great News From McAllen!
After a lengthy delay, Propositions A and B are finally in effect in McAllen as of January 27, 2025!
Ground Game Texas started our latest campaign in McAllen early last year after we heard over and over again from voters in the area that they felt cynical and powerless about local politics. Proposition A is a campaign finance reform measure aimed at reducing the influence of big money donors, and Proposition B increases access to direct democracy with the powers of initiative, recall, and referendum.

Just last November, the Dallas voters turned out for marijuana decriminalization — and now the policy is in effect throughout the city.

Prop A Defeated – Amarillo, TX Voters Reject the First Abortion Travel Restriction Ballot Proposition in the Nation
On November 5, 2024, Amarillo voters have decisively rejected Prop A, a measure driven by outside interests aimed at further restricting access to abortion care through a travel ban and deputizing vigilantes to enforce it through frivolous civil lawsuits. This victory affirms our community’s commitment to bodily autonomy and personal freedom.

Weed Wins Across Texas: Dallas, Lockhart, and Bastrop Vote to Decriminalize Marijuana
November 5, 2024 marked a clean sweep for marijuana reform in Texas – over two-thirds of voters in Dallas, Lockhart, and Bastrop voted a resounding “yes” for citywide marijuana decriminalization, making up 66.9% of the vote in Dallas, 67.95% in Lockhart, and 69.79% in Bastrop.

Victory in McAllen: Propositions A and B Approved by Voters
This victory is the result of the hard work of Ground Game Texas field staff, led by McAllen Campaign Manager Karen Salazar. In order to get Props A and B on the ballot, Karen led a team in collecting over 5,000 signatures from local residents. Our get out the vote effort led to decisive wins for both props, with A getting 56.32% of the vote, and B getting a stunning 66.91%.
